I am nephrologist working in the Baltimore area. I care for patients with chronic kidney disease, those on dialysis, and those with a kidney transplant. I have been very active with the National Kidney Foundation of Maryland (NKF-MD). I started a program about 13 years ago called KEY – Kidneys Evaluate Yours. This program is designed to go in to areas where people are at high risk for kidney disease and screen them for high blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney disease – we then provide them feedback and education.
I have chaired the Medical Advisory Board for the NKF-MD and am currently still a member of this board.
I just completed six years of the medical leadership track at St. Agnes Hospital where I served as secretary-treasurer, president and past-president. I remain active as a member of the Medical Executive Committee.
I currently am chair of the Practicing Nephrology Advisory Group of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and serve am on the board of the ASN.
I am the leader of a Girl Scout troop which I have done for the last twelve years. I am also a member of a travel girl scout troop which I do with my daughter. I am a lay reader and liturgist at church and also serve as a Stephen Minister.
